About The Event

he Feminist Research Collective invites participants to engage with us  in exploring qualitative inquiry as a form of just irresponsibility to  the neoliberal demands of the academy. The five papers in this symposium  drawing on our WomenWeLove research project—an expansive collective  lifestory endeavor to collaborative demonstrate the value of qualitative  inquiry for a counter micropolitics of higher education. By drawing on  the WomenWeLove research, we (1) articulate our collective inquiry  process, (2) demonstrate the power of love in scholarship (as an  alternative to the validity criteria of objectivity), and  (3) introduce  new methodological concepts for qualitative inquiry, such as  storyworlding, while also demonstrating new ways of engaging as  qualitative research communities within higher education.

Storyworlding: An Outline of the Philosophic and Methodological Commitments of a New Feminist Methodology by Barbara Dennis and Pengfei Zhao Love and Validity in Feminist Storyworlding Methodology by Lucinda Carspecken and Pooja Saxena Misbehaving as Feminist Ethics: Social Justice and Resistance by Barbara Dennis and Aly Elfreich Not Waves but Ripples: Re-Worlding and Counter-Worlding of Intergenerational Feminism by Samantha Silberstein and Pengfei Zhao On Becoming Irresponsible Feminists: Graduate Student Socialization to Qualitative Inquiry by Suparna Bose, Dajanae Palmer, Samantha Silberstein, Pooja Saxena, and Sylvia Washington
